Whale Watching Samaná Bay
Whale Watching Samaná Bay is a marine wildlife experience in Samaná, Dominican Republic, where visitors can observe North Atlantic humpback whales during their seasonal presence in the bay.
Every year, humpback whales travel to the warm waters of Samaná Bay during the winter breeding season. Visitors can join boat excursions from Samaná to search for whales in their natural environment and observe behaviors such as surfacing, tail displays, pectoral-fin movements and, when conditions allow, spectacular breaches.
The principal whale-watching period is January through March, making this one of the most popular seasonal wildlife experiences in the Samaná region. Exact sightings and whale activity naturally depend on weather, sea conditions and animal behavior.
